This picture shows the Comber Road at the site of Dundonald Station. The steps to the down platform can be seen in the background. In the foreground are two bus shelters, this being the alternative means of public transport for the area since rail services ceased in 1950. At one time you could travel to Belfast by train in 15 minutes, today the bus will take 20 or 45 at rush hour. Such is the path of progress!
